Science Activity:  Our class conducted a population simulation to investigate the carrying capacity an area.  Our students or "deer" experienced how food availability impacts population and survival.

Last week, our class worked in teams to develop a debate argument for a topic from The Tiger Rising.  Discussion teams had to work together to choose a position, and select specific evidence from the text to support their claim.  Looking for debatable ideas in our books are great ways to engage in deeper conversation, and raise the level of comprehension.
